When you stream with Airtame, you use two key components: the application on your computer and the Airtame dongle. We call these two components, Software (computer app) and Firmware (Airtame device).
That means when it comes to updating your Airtame, there are two places that get updated. Both the app and the device will check and install updates automatically, unless disabled.
It's possible to manually update the app and the device, just make sure the device has an internet connection.
📺 Updating the Airtame Device (Firmware)
- In the app on your computer, open your Airtame's device settings in the list
- Select the "Updates" Tab and click "Check for Updates"
- Click "OK." Your Airtame will now start updating
- Repeat these steps for each Airtame device you have
It can take up to 30-60 minutes to complete the update. Don't unplug the device, unless the update is hanging for a long period.
You can also access device settings by typing in the device's unique IP in your browser (e.g. 192.168.22.1)
Updates happen over HTTP (TCP port 80) So ensure that this port is available on your network
💻 Updating the App (Software)
The Airtame app checks for software updates regularly. If there is an update available, you'll see a green bar inside the app. Simply click on the "Update" button and the application will install the new update.
You can also download and install the latest version from airtame.com/download and it will replace your previous version.
