How Airtame works video
This article will help you set your Airtame up for the first time. The end goal is to have Airtame connected to your local WiFi so that it’s available for anybody on that WiFi network to stream wirelessly to.
Step 1: Installing & Powering Airtame
The first step is to plug Airtame into your TV or projector and power it up.
To power the Airtame, you can plug the provided power adapter into Airtame’s USB port.
You can also power Airtame through your TV/projector’s USB port labeled “5V 1A” or “USB-HDD”. (If it says “service,” however, this will not work.)
Use the provided HDMI extension cord to fit Airtame in tight spots or move around for better WiFi connection
Step 2: Launching the Setup Guide
The setup guide will show you how to name your new Airtame and connect the device to your local WiFi.
To open the setup guide, you should have the Airtame app downloaded and installed. You can find the app on www.airtame.com/setup. Once it’s installed, open the app and click “Add Airtame”
Step 3: Connect to Airtame's WiFi
After you’ve clicked “Add Airtame,” the setup guide will ask you to connect your computer to Airtame’s WiFi network. This is in order to apply settings for the first time.
To connect to Airtame’s WiFi, use your computer's WiFi menu. The name and password are shown on the TV/projector screen.
⚠️ Windows 10: You’ll be asked for a PIN code when you connect to the WiFi. Click on “Connect using a security key instead” to enter the Airtame’s password. This password is shown on the TV/projector screen.
You can expect to see "No internet access" when you connect to Airtame's network. That’s because Airtame doesn’t provide Internet on its own.
Step 4: Connecting Airtame to your local WiFi
Now that your computer is connected to the Airtame, you can give the device a name and connect it to your home/office WiFi network. Enter the name, WiFi name, and password, then click on "Set up Airtame" to apply your settings.
Once the settings are applied, you will see the Airtame screen change to the default home screen and your computer will switch back to your local WiFi network.
The Name of your device will also become the name of your Airtame's own WiFi.
Use 5GHz over 2.4GHz networks since this will result in better streaming quality. 2 or 5 is shown in brackets after the network name to help distinguish
Step 5: Staring a Stream
Now that the device is set up, go ahead and try to stream:
- Make sure your computer has reconnected to your local WiFi
- Open the Airtame App
- Click "START" for the devices you wish to stream to or enter the device's IP address and hit ENTER
- When you are done, click "Stop" to terminate the stream/s.
To modify any of the settings applied, go to the device management panel.
